Getting Around from the Port
There are no independent transport options available on Half Moon Island. Weather
Half Moon Island in the South Shetlands has a polar maritime climate with Antarctic summer temperatures of 28°F–37°F (-2°C to 3°C) and a beautiful crescent-shaped beach frequented by chinstrap penguins. Wind and sea conditions can change rapidly. Pack heavy thermal layers, waterproof and windproof outerwear, insulated waterproof boots, and high-SPF sunscreen for the intense polar light.

There is no local currency on Half Moon Island as there are no commercial establishments. All expenses, if any, are handled through your cruise ship's onboard account.
