Getting Around from the Port
The main activity hub of Geraldton, Marine Tce, is located just one street back from the waterfront promenade and is easily walkable from the cruise port. This area features a concentration of pubs, restaurants, shops, and cafes. For destinations further afield, such as Kalbarri National Park, which is situated 150 km north, independent travel would require a rental car or booking a shore excursion, as it is well beyond walking distance.

Marine Tce serves as a central point for both dining and shopping, offering a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes, and shops within easy reach of the port. General shopping hours are Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and until lunchtime on Saturday. In larger towns like Geraldton, many shops may extend their hours until 9 pm on Thursday or Friday evenings. Shopping malls often operate on Sundays as well.

Geraldton enjoys a warm, semi-arid Mediterranean climate with the cruise season from October to April bringing warm to hot temperatures ranging from 72°F to 95°F (22°C to 35°C). The city is one of Australia's windiest, and the famous afternoon sea breeze provides reliable relief from summer heat. Pack lightweight clothing, strong sunscreen, and a light windproof layer for comfort during the cooling afternoon breezes.
