Linz AustriaCruise Port Guide
Getting Around from the Port
Cruise ships dock at the central Danube quay (Gruberstrasse/Urfahr district) within easy walking distance of the historic center and cultural institutions. The Ars Electronica Centre is immediately visible from the dock on the north bank. A pedestrian bridge (Nibelungenbrücke) connects Urfahr to the city center. Tram lines 1 and 2 serve the main sights; day tickets cost €5.20. The Pöstlingbergbahn mountain tram departs from Hauptplatz to the hilltop pilgrimage church (€10.80 return).

Donaupark for riverside walking.
Dining & Shopping
The Linzer Torte (jam lattice tart with almond-spice pastry) is the city's signature — buy at Jindrak or Café Traxlmayr, the oldest coffee house in Linz (1803). Hauptplatz and Altstadt have excellent cafés and restaurants. Try Linzer Torte ice cream at local gelato shops. The Landstrasse shopping street offers mainstream retail. Linz has an excellent Saturday farmers' market (Südbahnhofmarkt) for regional produce. Souvenirs: Linzer Torte (boxed, travels well), Linz City merchandise, and Austrian crystal.
