Coco Cay BahamasCruise Port Guide
Getting Around from the Port
Upon disembarkation, the entire island is accessible by foot from the cruise pier. The main attractions are generally within a 5-15 minute walk. For longer distances or those preferring not to walk, a complimentary tram service operates regularly, connecting the pier area to Thrill Waterpark, Oasis Lagoon, Chill Island, and South Beach. There are no taxis, public buses, or car rental options available on Coco Cay, as it is a private island resort.
Attractions and Activities
Coco Cay offers a variety of activities, primarily managed by Royal Caribbean. Most activities can be booked onboard or via the cruise planner before your sailing, with prices varying.
- Thrill Waterpark: This includes Daredevil's Peak, the tallest waterslide in North America (approximately $99-199 per person for a full day pass, depending on sailing). It also features the Wave Pool and various other slides at Splash Summit. The waterpark is a short tram ride or 10-15 minute walk from the pier.
- Oasis Lagoon: Claimed as the Caribbean's largest freshwater pool, it features a swim-up bar, various coves, and areas for all ages. Entry to the pool is complimentary. It's centrally located, about a 5-10 minute walk from the pier or a quick tram ride.
- Chill Island & South Beach: These are the primary beach areas offering complimentary loungers. Chill Island is known for snorkeling (equipment rental available, approx. $30-40) and calm waters. South Beach offers more active options like volleyball and frisbee. Both are accessible via tram or a 10-20 minute walk from the pier.
- Up, Up and Away Hot Air Balloon: This tethered helium balloon ascends 450 feet for panoramic views of Coco Cay and the surrounding Bahamian waters (approximately $49-99 per person). Located near the main entrance, it's a 5-minute walk from the pier.
- Coco Beach Club: An exclusive, premium experience offering a private beach, infinity pool, and upscale dining. Access typically requires an additional fee (approximately $99-299 per person, varies by amenities chosen), which includes complimentary dining at the Coco Beach Club restaurant. It is located at the far end of the island, accessible by tram or a longer walk.
