Oostende Cruise Port Guide
Oostende offers a highly convenient cruise experience as ships dock directly in the heart of the city. Your vessel will berth in the outer-port, just 500 meters from the open sea, placing you immediately amidst the city's attractions. This central location allows for easy, independent exploration of many sights on foot, making it an ideal destination for passengers with limited time in port.
Getting Around from the Port
Many of Oostende's key attractions are within easy walking distance from the cruise pier. The city center, numerous monuments, the cathedral, Fort Napoleon, the spa, and the popular pier promenade are all just a short stroll away. The city marina, home to the gracious three-masted barquentine Mercator, is also easily accessible on foot, as are the Casino and the Wellington Hippodrome. For exploring the wider Belgian coast, the tram is undoubtedly the fastest and easiest means of transport. Tram frequency varies by season:
- During summer, trams run every 10 minutes.
- From September until November 5th, during Christmas and crocus holidays, and from Easter until the end of June, trams run every 15 minutes.
- After November 5th, the frequency is every 20 minutes.
