Getting Around from the Port
Upon arrival at the tender pier, you will be in the immediate vicinity of Puerto Chacabuco's small town center. However, for most activities, shopping, and dining, travel to nearby towns is recommended. Taxis are available at the port, though they are not metered. A round trip taxi journey to Coyhaique is estimated to cost approximately 25 Euro. Puerto Aysen is an easily accessible 10-mile drive north, while Coyhaique requires a longer 38-mile journey inland.

Dining & Shopping
Puerto Chacabuco itself has very few shops and extremely limited dining options. For a greater selection of shops and commercial establishments, your best option is to travel 10 miles north to Puerto Aysen.

Puerto Chacabuco is a remote fjord port in Chilean Patagonia with a cool, very rainy climate and temperatures between 41°F and 59°F (5°C to 15°C). The cruise season runs October through March when days are longer and Patagonian glaciers and national parks are most accessible.
