Getting Around from the Port
Upon tendering ashore, you'll find the cruise terminal exceptionally close to downtown Saint Jean de Luz. The walk to the town's core is typically a short one, ranging from approximately 500 meters to 1 kilometer. The town center is easily navigable on foot, allowing independent exploration of its main attractions.

The town center, particularly around Place Louis XIV, is home to some of the finest seafood restaurants on the Basque Coast, alongside various bars and terraces. During summer months, especially on Sunday mornings, the square often hosts musical events, including performances by a Basque Choir. For shopping, wander through the narrow lanes where you'll find a variety of boutiques. The more chic shops are located around the Thermes and Casino area. General shop opening hours in France are typically from 8 or 9 AM to 6:30 or 7:30 PM, Monday to Saturday for larger stores, and Tuesday to Saturday for smaller ones. Smaller shops may close for lunch between 12:30 PM and 2 PM. However, boulangeries and food shops often remain open, including until noon on Sundays.
