Back

Bar serves as a modern cruise port, having welcomed its first cruise ships in 2016. Cruise vessels dock conveniently in the center of town, approximately 1.5 kilometers from the main areas. While Bar itself offers pleasant stony beaches, many visitors opt for the beautiful, long sandy beach in Sutomore, a small town within the Bar municipality. The region is known for its untouched natural beauty, lush vegetation, and clean, green urban spaces, providing a peaceful contrast to its port city status.

Getting Around from the Port

Bar is a compact city, making most attractions within walking distance of the port. A walk from the port to the beaches in Susanj will take approximately 30 minutes, or taxis are readily available if you prefer not to walk.

For travel to Sutomore (about 5 km north along the coast), a local bus service operates during the summer months with hourly departures. The closest bus station to the port is located on Jovana Tomaševića street. To reach it, walk approximately 500 meters along Vladimira Rolovića street until you reach the intersection with Jovana Tomaševića street, then turn right and walk another 130 meters. Buses typically run every 45 to 60 minutes from morning until late night, despite some signs that may indicate a more frequent 15-minute service.
