Prion Island on South Georgia has a sub-Antarctic maritime climate with summer (December–February) temperatures of 32°F–46°F (0–8°C) and is famous as one of the few accessible nesting sites for wandering albatross. Weather is rapidly changeable with frequent rain, wind, and fog. Pack heavy thermal layers, completely waterproof and windproof outerwear, and insulated waterproof boots.
