Scooters can be rented for 200-300 Thai Baht per day, with helmets provided. A driver's license is generally not required for scooter rentals here.

If you wish to visit the neighboring island of Ko Yao Yai, regular long-tail boats operate during daylight hours between Ko Yao Noi's Manok Pier and Ko Yao Yai's Chonglad Pier. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes and costs 20 Thai Baht per person.

Given 8-10 hours, Koh Yao Noi offers a blend of relaxation and natural exploration:

  • Beach Hopping and Snorkeling (East Side): Head to the East side of the island where the beaches are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. You can easily reach these by scooter or tuk-tuk from the pier. Spend time relaxing on the sand or exploring the underwater world.
  • Explore the Scenic West Side: Take a scooter or tuk-tuk tour to the West side of the island. This area offers a picturesque landscape of traditional rice paddies and serene mangrove forests, providing a different perspective of the island's natural beauty.
  • Hornbill Watching: Keep an eye out for the island's resident hornbills. Koh Yao Noi is a sanctuary for at least four species, and sightings are common, especially when exploring the island's natural areas.
  • Day Trip to Ko Yao Yai: For a change of scenery, consider a short long-tail boat trip to Ko Yao Yai. Boats depart from Manok Pier (on Ko Yao Noi) to Chonglad Pier (on Ko Yao Yai) for 20 Thai Baht per person, taking 10-15 minutes each way. Once there, you can explore its less developed landscapes.

Koh Yao Noi sits in Phang Nga Bay and has a tropical monsoon climate with the dry season from November to April being the primary cruise period, offering warm sunny weather with temperatures between 77°F and 90°F (25–32°C). The monsoon season from May to October brings heavy rainfall and rougher seas in the Andaman region. Pack lightweight clothing, sunscreen, a hat, swimwear, and a light rain jacket.
